Diocesan Youth Commission
Minutes for the January 25, 2004 meeting
Held at St. Mark’s, Orchard Park
Opening prayer offered by Terra Cutlip
Need to do something as a thank you for Fr. Wilson discussed. Jay Phillippi had arranged for plaque thanking Fr. Wilson for his service and it was agreed to forward it to him in Florida. Fr. Wilson had sent the YC his love and affection. Four names were received as possibilities for the next adult chair, Wendy Schumacher, Butch Wiest, Fr. Dan Weir and Deacon Bruce Gillies. Unanimous vote to forward the candidates to the Bishop for selection of chair.
Jay moved that the final meeting of the year be held in May rather than at camp (where it hasn’t worked very well) and that we hold the meeting at LCLC so the Commission could inspect the facility. Passed unanimously.
We’ve gotten out of some of our routines, like opening prayer, closing prayer, minutes need to be done and given to Jay so they can be posted on the web page. Nick Hurd moved that a sign up sheet be done for future devotions. Nick will do devotions in March, Rachel Phillippi will do them in May, Maggie Avery will do them in September and Fr. Dan Weir will do them in November. Passed unanimously
